The concept of numbers

Numbers are mathematical objects used to count, measure and label. e.g. 1, 2, 3 etc. Numbers are represented by a notation symbol called numerals. These numerals are the areas used in counting, measuring and labeling items in a group of data. Numbers can be used to create order of activities and for codes. There are different types of numbers namely, negative numbers, real numbers, complex numbers and rational numbers. Numbers can also be categorized as odd, even or prime. Numbers also have cultural representation for example 13 is considered as unlucky number whereas 7 a perfect number in the western societies.
